Backyard Safari pt 2

I've taken just a ton of pics of the various flowers we have growing at the house. I've taken several rolls of film just in the yard...this keeps me motivated to continue to add to the landscapping...there will probably end up being several more installments of the backyard safari...

Fun with a negative scanner -or- Blast from the Past

My grandfather took these pictures. I'm guessing it is the Christmas of '74. Pictures of me with my mother, grandmother, and grandfather, with a picture of my great-grandfather, Bert Walton, and his daughter Marcie (or perhaps that is her sister Gin...the jury is still out) thrown in for good measure. I'll have more of these to post as I scan the negatives.
The picture of the praying man that you can see in the background of the pictures with the Christmas tree (and the mountain of presents) still hangs in that very spot in my grandparent's dining room area. If you look very closely, you'll see a school picture of my cousin Michelle wedged in between the picture and the frame. Over the years, the pictures displayed in the margin have changed, but the overall feel is the same.
The photo with my mother reading to me reminds me of that black leather recliner. My grandfather's chair. One of the favorite places of my childhood.

I have the photos, so why not post them today? Posting two days in the future seems a little odd, but I want these things to be seperate entries. I can always come back and change the comments yesterday, when tomorrow is last week...or something.

Backyard Safari Pt. 1

There are a lot of these photos of the various plants (and animals, sometimes even people) in my back yard. This is the most recent batch. I'll catch up some of the others sometime soon. Also included are pictures of Cami with her Uncle Rhett and his dogs, taken during our recent visit to his (beautiful) home.

Florida Sunset

We've gone to Florida several times in the last few years...mostly to the Tampa area, and as far away from tourists as possible. These photos were taken in Ft. Desoto park, at sunset, we were nearly alone, enjoying the grandure of the Creation.
Some additional photos in this group were from the beach farther south of Tampa.
