Flashback
Found a couple digipics I forgot to include before the trip.
First, the snow we got on the Tuesday before we left for Florida. Less than a week later, we were in shorts, sunning ourselves in perpetual 80 degree weather, watching baseball and eating hotdogs...
The last three are some sky shots...two reflected in my side-view mirror, one just between my office and my car on my way home for the afternoon.

State Park
This was the first state park we visited in Florida...near the in-law's home in Zephyrhills. Hillsborough River Park, I believe is the name.
Digi-cam snaps. Hopefully better 35mm shots coming in the future.
***Edit***
There were no winners in the most recent What-Is-It-Wednesday contest.
I'm very disappointed in all of you. It's too bad too, because the prize for that quiz was the standard "no-prize" coupled with one million dollars (or Euros, if you prefer)...
My sister-in-law did guess that the second picture was the top piece of a lamp...
She was way off in the other guess though...the first photo was a closeup of a artist's brush-and-water caddy...basically it is a round container with four compartments for water, little ridges to help clean out brushes, and little holes around the outside to hold various size brushes while you are painting...

First Fruits
Took approximately 10 rolls of film while in Florida last week. We'll see how they come out later. For now, I'll post a few of the digital pics from the cheapo digicam...
First few are of Cami...not altered digitally at all (I usually add some sharpening and contrast)...more to come later in the week...

What-Is-It?!? Wednesday
Two grainy pics for you to decipher.
The second one has a clue built right in to the picture itself.
Not sure if I'll announce a winner until I get back from Florida, but have fun guessing.
Fame and fortune awaits.

Pups...
So I got a new mirror telephoto lens...yes, if you read photo magazines, its that "cheap" $90 one...yes, it, in the end, takes photos that look like it is a $90 lens...now, I'm not saying it was a bad purchase...without a doubt, it has its place in my camera bag...inexpensive, light, compact, and 500mm worth of zoom power...it allows me to take some shots I wouldn't get otherwise, but the results aren't magnificent in quality...they are, however, USEABLE and for that, I'm gonna keep the lens around a while...
Here's the first batch of experiments with the new lens...what better to do than get up close and personal with the dogs...

Adventures in Portraits
Cami is running for local political office. Last Saturday, after a luncheon where she spoke and met voters, we decided the weather was so nice that we'd go take some photos to be considered for publicity purposes. Just three short days after these sunny, warm-looking photos were taken, it snowed...three inches...*sigh*
The shadows were a little harsh, and I didn't have a reflector with me to minimize them, but here's the first batch...
We'll be off (hopefully) soaking in some sun in Florida next week. That will possibly mean I'll come back with rolls and rolls of pictures to fill up this f-log...untill then I'll schedule some odds and ends for the handfull of my photo friends who try to keep up...
Be good while I'm gone.

Ice Studies
We had a rather ice-less winter until one storm system came through...even then, there wasn't much to photgraph until some of the snow and ice started to melt and form the long, beautiful fingers of ice. I attempted to capture a bit of that here.
