Nothing too intereseting here...Winter finally arrived. We actually had ice and snow and cold wind...
Here's just a couple shots from my office. Followed by a few from around the house.
Note: The 4th shot here marks my 300th photo posted at Fotopages.com.

Freaky Friday?
|
|
So I thought from time to time, I'd put up some photos that were bad to start with, so I've played with photo editing software to salvage SOMETHING of an artistic interpretation. I went through several names for such a posting:
Try-to-guess Tuesday
What-is-that?!? Wednesday
etc.
I had postings for those days this week, though, so here's Freaky Friday entry #1 and #2. The first person to accurately guess the "true" identity of the item will be declared "WINNER", lavished with praise, given a cyber-key to the City, and shipped a fabulous No-Prize*.
The first two here are pretty easy: #1 hasn't even been retouched, its just a common item, but I'm curious how quickly it will be figured out. #2 isn't hard either, but I think it's kinda pretty...
Next week, it'll be Wacky Wednesday...and it WILL be harder.

Blast from the puppy past...
|
|
Texas, Spring 1998
I believe, this is the last (or one of the last) "play-date" that Lewis and Maddie had with their Texas Retreiver buddy, Bailey. Bailey is the owner of two of our finest Texas friends, Shelly and Wes Fryer. They are also owned by their three kids now (they have really good kids...I might want one if I thought they would come out like their kids), but that's another story!!!
You can also see the havoc that is a result of leaving the two dogs alone to nap on the bed...

Old as the hills..
|
|
I think these are from a camping trip in 1999 or so. I found this roll among a dozen old rolls from long, long ago that have never been developed.
Nothing very good here, but I needed something to put up...

Last of Carolina, for now...
|
|
The last entry was the last of the coastal sunsets for a while...we started discussing a Florida trip in March, so perhaps there will be more coming before too long...(Sherri, if you are reading this, when I emailed and told you we weren't planning any trips, we really weren't...i was informed of this change just last night... )
It was a little cold in SC as the first pic here shows, but still beautiful...

In my mind, I'm going to Carolina...

More South Carolina skies. From Nov. 2003.
Don't know what is causing the weird waves in the scans...they aren't on the originals...

Just some random flower photos that I don't think ever made it onto the photolog over the summer...won't be too long until they start coming back to life...

Side Trip
|
|
Back in the spring we went to Illinios to visit my wife's uncle, and on the way back stopped by the Ronald Reagan Boyhood Home Historic Site.
The house is much more humble when you get inside. The rooms are tiny. The bedroom Ron and his brother shared was about the size of my office here at work. From humble beginnings, you can rise to be the leader of our country. Regardless of your politics, you have to admire that. (Similarly, with Bill Clinton, who grew up in back-water Arkansas in a dysfunctional family.)
The photos of the statue were aweful (as you can see) and I knew that taking them (the lighting was terrible)...but I thought it would be interesting to see what would happen if I played with them digitally for a bit....here you have both the original and the manipulated.
