Lousy Winter
|
|
Well, the weather around here has been soooooooooooooooo bland...almost no snow, little ice, nothing fun to photograph...blah...just cold and brown...not too pretty...
So, we'll continue to go back into the old shoe-box-that-is-my-photo-vault until I can find something of interest to do photographically.
These are from Charleston, SC, Dec. 1995.
Went off without a good camera, so had to buy a cheapo one...not great, but they'll do.

Holy Family, Part Two
|

St. Joseph, Guardian of Jesus
But while he thought on these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream saying:
'Do not be afraid, Joseph, son of David, to take Mary your wife, for that which is begotten in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she shall bring forth a son, and you shall call His name Jesus; for he shall save His people their sins.'
Now all this came to pass that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet might be fulfilled, 'Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son; and they shall call His name Emmanuel';
So Joseph, arising from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took unto him his wife." (Mt. 1: 18-25)
"Alone of all men you were found worthy to be
the husband of the Virgin Mother,
and to carry in your arms the Son of God.
He who ruled all things obeyed you,
and He who teaches the whole creation
was taught by you." - Brian Moore

The Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God

â??Isaiah â??twas foretold it,
The Rose I have in mind;

Christmas is coming...
|
|
some details from our wall of crosses...
and this year's Christmas Tree...this photo doesn't do it justice...Cami put over 1500 lights on this tree, most of which you cannot see in this photo. It looks wonderful when it is the only illumination in the room...

Two'fer Tuesday Images
|
|
My friend Shane has posted these two photos of mine in his photoblog (http://www.shaneblake.com/kudzu) where he normally posts his Tuesday photos. He's a little busy with the birth of his son just a couple days ago, and has had guests posting. It was an honor to be asked to contribute.
You can see an additional photo of the statue of Mary below.

Couple of Snaps
|
|
I took quite a few photos when teaching, but few of them rose above the standard snapshot...these two were among the best at capturing the positive side of my students...hard to remember some days, but there were GOOD things about me being a teacher. Photos like this help me to focus a bit more on that.

Niagra
|
|
Camping trip two years ago took us to Cooperstown and Niagra. This is probably my second favorite vacation of recent memory. We had a great time.
So, in keeping with the panoramic theme, I thought I'd post some of the Niagra photos.
Since I was using an el cheapo throwaway camera, these aren't that great...I had to tweak them a lot more digitally than I do most photos I scan. Still not bad though.
Camera/Film: some cheap Kodak plastic camera that you send the whole thing in to be processed...
